Sicilian based travel photography company launches island tour holidays.
Three eight-day and twelve-day holiday itineraries have been developed by travel photography company Focus on Sicilia, to allow photographers to shoot the best images around the Italian island. Created by photographers for photographers the excursions take travellers to the island’s most stunning spots. Each location will be visited at the best time of day for the light and will include famous hot spots as well as lesser known local favourites.

Often referred to as the Pearl of the Mediterranean Sicily is the seas largest island. Situated at the southern boot of Italy it is also known to be Italy’s most beautifully diverse region. As the island provides an array of natural beauty both on land and at sea with cities, towns and historical sites in between, the possibilities are endless for the photographer seeking the perfect shots. The tours are all scheduled to take place during the autumn, winter and spring months to capture the best weather and light conditions with beautiful skies and the opportunities to enjoy seascape, landscape, city and street photography.
The eight-day tour of Western Sicily immerses photographers into Palermo and its surrounding region. Taking in the city centre of Palermo alongside Cefalù and the medieval towns of Castelbuono, Erice and Petralia Soprana highlights also include the salt pans with their typical Sicilian windmills near Marsala, the Greek temple of Segesta, the Byzantine mosaics in Monreale plus the two bustling fishing ports of Castellammare del Golfo and Porticello.
The other eight-day tour takes in Eastern Sicily. Concentrating on the areas of Catania, Syracuse and Noto the itinerary includes visits to Europe’s most active volcano of Mount Etna, Taormina, the small ports along the Riviera dei Limoni and Ortygia in Syracuse. The fascinating baroque cities of Ragusa, Modica and Palazzolo Acreide are also included.
The Sicily Highlights tour is over twelve days. Starting in Catania photographers visit Ortygia, Noto, Modica, Ragusa, Palermo, Erice, Monreale and Cefalú. Highlights of this trip include the Greek temples of Segesta and Agrigento, Marsala’s salt pans, the medieval towns of Petralia Soprana and Castelbuono plus Mount Etna.
Tours are suitable for photographers of all levels. Departure dates are currently available for 2019 and 2020 with prices starting at 2,950 euros per person.
