UK Staycation: Adventure Filled Experiences in Scotland

With staycations on the rise this year, we’ve chosen these experiences in Scotland to make it a summer to remember.

To celebrate ‘The Great British Staycation’ of this year, are giving up to 60% off selected experiences and family days out purchased through them. We at The Rucksack News have chosen ten of our favourite, of all their adventure experiences to create lifelong memories in Scotland this summer.

River Tubing and Cliff Jumping: Perth, Lothian

Described by guests to be a breath taking and unforgettable experience these activities show Scotland from a different perspective.

Starting with a trek through a beautiful gorge, there is then a cliff jump into the water pools to an inflatable tube. Steering the tube will allow it to float through more of the gorge, taking in the relaxing environment.

This experience runs from April to September. Restrictions apply.

Rapid Runners: Aberfeldy, Perthshire

The rapid runners is an exhilarating water sport experience for two held at Splash Whitewater Rafting in Aberfeldy.

Both people will work together to ride the River Tay’s vigorous waves and bumps yet enjoy the scenic views in the lazier sections.

All equipment is provided.

This experience is suitable for 12 year olds and above.

Tree Top Challenge: Various Locations

Held at Go Ape sites in the three locations of Stirling, Peebles and Crathes, this experience will have you swinging from the treetops. The challenge consists of bridges, tunnels, swings and zip wires as you make your way around an obstacle course set in the forest canopy.

Expect to get dirty whilst feeling the adrenaline flow.

Mountain Biking: Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway

This is an experience for two people at Gorsebank to discover the beauty of Scotland from off the beaten track.

Guests will have the use of mountain bikes, equipment and a trail guide for 6 hours to choose their own routes to suit ability.

The Dalbeattie 7 Stanes Trail is especially recommended to ride through the forest and discover the purpose-built view spots.

Night Bungee: Pitlochry, Tayside

Scotland’s only permanent bungee bridge is also the location of Europe’s only night bungee experience.

Jumping from the height of 30m/132ft will plunge adrenaline junkies into the black abyss, as they become surrounded by darkness.

Flyboarding: Crocketford, Dumfries and Galloway

The fly board is a hover style craft that uses extreme water force to send the board and its rider 10 metres into the air.

This is a 25 minute adrenaline booster for all ages between 16 and 80 years old and over 4’6” in height.

A qualified instructor will give training and demonstrate the capabilities of the flyboard to give guests the maximum thrills possible.

Canyoning: Perth, Lothian

Traversing the stunning Bruar canyon will entail white water swims, natural rock slides, the need for ropes and harnesses with a few exhilarating drops.

This is guided by an instructor that will make every second an adventure to remember.
